Project Overview

TN Computer Medics is a local computer repair and IT services business serving Tullahoma and surrounding Middle Tennessee communities.

PixelCrafted’s relationship with the business began in 2015 with a ground-up website build. As the site evolved, it moved into WordPress and expanded with service pages, location-focused content, reviews, FAQs, conversion elements, and ongoing technical management.

The work now spans website design, WordPress implementation, on-page and technical SEO, performance, maintenance, Search Console troubleshooting, and security recovery when website problems occur.

My Role

Ongoing Website & Technical Management
PixelCrafted has supported the website across design, development, content implementation, optimization, maintenance, and technical troubleshooting.
SEO scope: PixelCrafted manages website-side on-page and technical SEO. Off-site SEO, backlink acquisition, external citation campaigns, and other off-site search marketing are managed separately.

A 10-Year Website Partnership

From Original Build to Long-Term Website Management

The relationship began in 2015 when PixelCrafted built the original site from the ground up as a mobile-ready HTML website.

When the business became TN Computer Medics in October 2015, the website and domain were updated. Over the following decade, the site evolved into WordPress and the work expanded from design and page updates into ongoing website management and technical support.

What started as a single website project grew into a long-term partnership built around keeping the business website useful, current, and technically reliable.
Over time, the work expanded to
Website support across:
  • WordPress design and implementation
  • Service and location-focused content
  • On-page and technical SEO
  • Performance and conversion improvements
  • Maintenance, hosting issues, and troubleshooting

Building the Local-Service Website System

Designed Around Services, Locations and Customer Needs

As the business and website evolved, the platform expanded beyond a simple brochure site into a structured local-service website.

The current WordPress site gives visitors clear paths into computer repair, managed IT, cybersecurity, hardware support, local service areas, reviews, FAQs, and direct contact options.

The website system includes:

Built for Local Customers

The website combines service information, local content, reviews, FAQs, maps, and conversion elements so customers can understand what TN Computer Medics offers and how to request help.

Service & Location Architecture

Structured for Local Discovery and Conversion

The site’s growth required more than adding pages. Service, location, conversion, and maintenance elements had to work together as one organized website system.

PixelCrafted continues to manage the website-side structure and implementation while off-site SEO work remains separate.

The Incident

When Search Console Revealed a Much Bigger Problem

In August 2026, Google Search Console and Google results exposed a large-scale SEO-spam infection. Random foreign-language and spam URLs were being associated with a website that legitimately contained only a fraction of that volume.

The historical Search Console data shows how quickly the indexed footprint exploded before the deeper remediation work took hold.

What the data showed
The index growth was far beyond the legitimate scale of the website. Search Console ultimately recorded a peak of 1,337,181 indexed URLs on August 11, 2026.

Recovery in Google Search Console

After the deeper remediation work, Google progressively recrawled the site and removed invalid URLs from its index. Google controls indexing and deindexing; PixelCrafted’s role was to remove the malicious behavior and restore correct website responses.

Deep Remediation & Hardening

Initial cleanup did not fully stop the reinfection, so the work moved deeper into WordPress files, plugins, persistence paths, hosting coordination, HTTP response handling, credentials, and ongoing monitoring.
10 Plugins Removed

Suspicious or malicious components removed from the live installation.

Malicious PHP Removed

Identified backdoor and injected PHP files removed from theme directories.

Core Verified

WordPress core replaced and verified against official checksums.

404 / 410 Cleanup

Invalid spam URLs restored to appropriate HTTP responses.

Credentials Hardened

Passwords rotated, unnecessary components removed, and updates applied.

Current Security State

The site is currently stable with no observed reinfection. Core integrity has been verified, backups are in place, and the website continues to be monitored for file changes, security issues, and abnormal indexing activity.

Incident Response Process

The recovery required more than a routine malware scan.
The work progressed from detection and investigation through cleanup, verification, hardening, monitoring, and Google index recovery.

The Result

TN Computer Medics began as a ground-up website project in 2015 and evolved into a long-term technical relationship covering website development, content expansion, on-page and technical SEO, performance, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

When the site encountered a persistent security and SEO-spam incident in 2026, recovery required deeper investigation, hosting coordination, malware removal, technical remediation, and continued Search Console monitoring until the site stabilized.
