A WordPress repair should have a clear price, a clear boundary, and a tested result.
Something on your website stopped working. This page explains what a minor repair starting at $199 covers, when diagnosis costs extra, what I test, and what happens if the problem turns out to be bigger.
Does your problem qualify for the $199 starting price?
The entry price is for an existing WordPress website with one straightforward, identifiable problem. I need enough evidence to define a safe correction before quoting it.
One agreed problem. One defined correction. No surprise extras.
One problem
Keep it contained.
One broken feature, setting, or directly related symptom—not several unrelated issues throughout the site.
Clear cause
A targeted correction.
The issue can be reproduced or verified, and the needed change is reasonably understood before work begins.
Testable result
Agree what success means.
The affected behavior can be checked against a written expected result, with suitable access and precautions.
The entry price covers a small, clearly defined job—not an unlimited investigation.
One Contained WordPress Repair
From $199
For one eligible problem on an existing WordPress website. I confirm the exact repair and fixed price in writing before paid work starts.
✓ Review the reported problem
✓ Inspect the affected area
✓ Confirm a specific proposed correction
✓ Use suitable precautions before risky changes
✓ Make the agreed repair
✓ Check the stated expected behavior
✓ Summarize the changes and test results
✓ Explain unresolved or additional issues
More complicated troubleshooting, several unrelated failures, malware recovery, and substantial rebuilding are quoted separately. You decide whether to proceed.
From investigation to a verified correction.
Review the symptom
Read your description, identify the affected page or feature, and reproduce the failure where possible.
Define the fix
Check the directly relevant WordPress settings, components, or integrations and document the proposed correction.
Make the agreed change
Apply the approved correction with appropriate backup and recovery precautions where practical.
Test and explain
Verify the affected behavior against the agreed check, then explain what changed and what remains.
Some problems need a different repair scope.
Hacks and extensive recovery
Malware, spam injection, reinfection analysis, server-wide recovery, and major database restoration.
Large or uncertain faults
Multiple unrelated problems, lengthy diagnosis, unstable hosting, or complex external email delivery.
New design or functionality
Redesigning pages, adding features, major plugin or theme reconstruction, or complex integrations.
Ongoing website work
Site-wide performance work, complete audits, migrations, continuous monitoring, and future maintenance.
Diagnosis and repair are separate when necessary.
A visible symptom doesn’t always reveal the cause. I’ll tell you if I can quote a defined fix immediately or if further investigation needs its own scope.
You choose whether a paid investigation makes sense before any charge.
Initial review
No charge to describe the problem.
Send the site and symptoms. I review what you share and explain what I need next. This isn’t a full technical audit.
Paid diagnosis
A separately approved investigation.
If the cause is unclear, I quote limited diagnostic work and deliver the agreed findings, even if further repair is required.
Repair quote
Only after the work is defined.
I explain the proposed correction, price, exclusions, and checks. You can proceed or decline; diagnosis does not obligate you to buy a repair.
You describe the problem. I handle the technical investigation.
You don’t need a technical explanation. You do need a way to show the problem and authorize access to the relevant systems.
What you provide
The site address, the symptom and when it started, relevant screenshots or error messages if available, appropriate access, and confirmation of any agreed changes. Avoid sending passwords in ordinary email.
What I handle
Focused investigation, a written repair scope, suitable precautions, the agreed correction, representative testing, and a completion summary with remaining limitations.
A clear process from first symptom to handoff.
I separate what can be confirmed from what needs investigation. The fixed-price work is agreed before I change the website.
Show me what's broken
Send the website, affected page or feature, what happens, and any recent changes you noticed.
Review and scope
I investigate as needed, explain the proposed work, and provide the fixed quote and acceptance checks.
Approve and repair
You approve the price and scope. I make only the agreed changes, with suitable precautions.
Test and hand over
I check the expected behavior, document what was done, and flag work that remains outside the original scope.
The job is finished when the agreed repair meets its stated checks.
Your quote identifies what working behavior is expected. I won’t represent an unresolved problem as a successful repair.
How I verify the result
I test the affected function against the written acceptance criteria and explain the result.
- Example: A form submission triggers the agreed notification under the agreed test conditions.
- Unrelated pre-existing problems aren’t included in that test.
30-day defect coverage
Report a defect directly attributable to my agreed repair within 30 calendar days of documented completion. I’ll correct it without additional labor charges.
- The same symptom from a new cause isn’t automatically covered.
- Later third-party updates or changes aren’t included unless my work caused the defect.
If the agreed correction cannot be delivered after a reasonable attempt to put it right, I’ll explain the outcome and provide a fair remedy for the undelivered repair work. Separately completed, agreed diagnosis remains distinct.
Clear payment. No unapproved work. No automatic penalties.
You get the written fixed price, deliverables, exclusions, payment arrangement, and completion criteria before paid work begins.
The agreement is about finished work, not an open-ended hourly bill.
Small repair payment
Paid upfront when agreed.
Eligible minor repairs can be paid in one upfront payment. Prepayment is not automatically earned if the agreed work is not delivered.
Stop or cancel
Part ways without a headache.
You can cancel in writing. I stop safely, account for agreed work already delivered, and refund unearned payment, subject to any separately approved nonrecoverable costs.
Additional work
A separate quote first.
If investigation reveals a larger or unrelated problem, I explain the difference. Any paid change requires your written approval before I proceed.
You keep your website—even if we stop working together.
I don’t host client websites or require you to move hosting to work with me. You keep control of your domain, hosting, WordPress accounts, and the decision about who helps you next.
✓ Domain and hosting paid through your own provider
✓ Access limited to what the repair requires
✓ No required PixelCrafted hosting or maintenance
✓ You can hire another developer whenever you choose
No lock-in. No handoff headache.
If we’re not the right fit, we can part ways cleanly. My responsibility is to complete and document the work we’ve agreed, not make you dependent on me.
Questions about repair scope and responsibility
Is every WordPress repair $199?
No. That is the starting price for one qualifying, contained problem. Larger or uncertain work receives a different written quote.
What if I don't know what's causing the problem?
Describe what you see. The initial review is free. If deeper diagnosis is needed, its price and findings are approved separately.
What if paid diagnosis doesn't uncover a fix?
You still receive the investigation and findings described in the diagnostic agreement. An actual repair is a separate promise and price.
What if the agreed repair can't be completed?
I’ll explain what failed, give a reasonable opportunity to correct it, and reconcile payment fairly for undelivered repair work.
What happens if the same symptom comes back?
I’ll check whether it is directly attributable to my work. Qualifying defects reported within 30 days are corrected without additional labor charges.
Can you repair a hacked WordPress site?
I can assess whether a security recovery job is supportable, but hacked-site cleanup is not included in the $199 minor repair scope.
Do I need to move hosting or buy maintenance?
No. I never host client websites. Your existing hosting remains yours, and maintenance is always optional.
Can I cancel, use another developer, or work by email?
Yes. You can decline further work or cancel under the agreed terms. I communicate through written messages, and no sales call is required.
Tell me the symptom. I'll explain what the repair would involve.
Send the website address and describe what stopped working. I’ll tell you what I can review, whether a contained repair is suitable, and what needs a separate written scope.
